Paranormal activity case study

The internet and such social web sites are a major inpact on how a film sells its advertising, this is one of the main factors how technology is a massive impact on the media industry. for example the media product of paranormal activity, did not spend any money on advertising. they made a soacial network account and posted things like teaser trailers and teaser posters this then got viewers to like, send and share this product to there friends, which made it cheep and easy to distribute.

The product met its target audenice by posting these trailers and posters at the correct time, they posted them when it was near halloween. This allowed all them viewers to see a scary horror film genre at the time of when the film came out. it also met the audince by using the same technology that there viewers where using like the social networking sites and also using technology that the viewers did not have to help with things like special effects that atracct the viewers and draw them in; very high tec equipment.

what really captured the audinces eye was when they released there teaser trailer, it was only a few clips of the film and most of the footage was just the audinces reactions.

the trailer is 1:06 seconds long
cert- 15 +
director os proudction- Greg Mottola

genre- Comedy with few sci-fi and action moments
the reason we know of its genre is that the two main actors that are presented to us have done sevral comedy films before this production, we think of them as a double act, that provide us with comedy.
due to the title of the production 'Paul' we suspect nothing this seems ordinary a meer typical name. this also adds to the beging of the trailer, it is peaceful music followed by normal footage, (establishing shot of 'the open road' (which is mensiond). set on the root 66 in america.
